Flights

Research Tools

Traveling in style means something different to everyone. Sometimes getting a great price on a flight allows you to get a room upgrade or plan a luxury meal.

We recommend using at least two of the resources below to compare prices and options.

Skyscanner

Skyscanner is one of our personal favorite flight finder tools. It will magically pull up the lowest cost flights on the web. Search for specific dates or more open date ranges so you can find the best deal!

Seat Guru

When booking a flight you want the best seat available and that’s where SeatGuru comes in. This flight research tool is the ultimate source for airplane seating. They also help with details on in-flight amenities, shopping and airline info.

Kayak

Hold on to your money and save on airfare by searching for the best priced flights on Kayak. Kayak searches for flight offers on hundreds of airline sites to help you find the lowest cost flights in less time.

Scott's Cheap Flights

Select your departing airport and get automatic notifications on flight specials right to your email. If you are flexible on flight dates and destinations this service is bound to find you the best travel deals around!

Momondo

Looking for more flexibility from your flight options? Momondo offers search options for flights with no change fees. Find the best prices with peace of mind that if things change you can easily make adjustments.

Hot tip: Secure TSA Pre-Check for yourself

Cue scene, you’re waiting in a long line at the airport to get through security and you see another traveler breeze by without removing their shoes or taking their laptop out of its case, the frustration is real. If you travel anywhere you have likely lived through a similar scenario. Luckily there is a solution and all it takes is 1. a five-minute application, 2. a 10 minute in person appointment, and 3. a few dollars to get a TSA Pre-Check status for the next 5 years.

With TSA Pre-Check you do not need to remove:

Nexus for International Travel

If you have ever had the privilege of traveling outside the United States you know how fun and exciting that can be. You also know that when it’s time to come home it can be an exercise in patience. Long lines to get through customs at the borders and ports can be a challenge when all you want to do is get home to your own bed. The Nexus Program was set up specifically to help expedite this process for international travelers from the United States and Canada.  Pre-screened travelers receive a radio frequency identification card. This card allows travelers to enter northern border ports of entry through a global entry kiosk which reduces lines and wait times when entering the United States and Canada. Insurance

MMR recommends World Nomads

When you’re planning a trip you want to know you will be taken care of no matter the circumstance. Travel insurance is a great way to prepare for any unexpected bumps in the road like missing luggage, illness or medical emergencies that may create unexpected challenges. The right plan can deliver all the support and resources you need.

Packing Lists

Like our retreats, each packing list is customized to ensure all your needs are met. Here is an example of one you might receive when you join us on our next retreat.

Health & Safety

Travel Vaccines

Your wanderlust is calling and you are ready to book your next retreat to a dream overseas location, what now? Besides purchasing tickets, and preparing packing lists you are going to want to plan to get vaccinated. The Covid-19 pandemic has been a catalyst for many countries to re-examine their vaccine requirements and you may need to get a couple shots before you jet set.

The World Health Organization has a comprehensive list of vaccines you should consider before heading to far away lands. Visit https://www.who.int/travel-advice/vaccines for more information.

Sleeping In Airports

Best places to catch some zzz's

Your bags are checked, you’ve made it through security and you are eagerly anticipating the flight to your desired location when you get the dreaded notification your flight is delayed until 5am. Sure you can head back out of the airport,  find a hotel near by and try to catch some zzz’s but that means waking up in a few hours just to make it back through security all over again.

Airport sleeping isn’t only for the young backpack traveler. These days, early flights, long layovers, cancellations, and extreme weather conditions are just some of the reasons travelers will grab a quick nap in airports around the world. Whether you need to sleep in an airport overnight by choice or you get stuck due to a layover or weather delay, check out The Guide to Sleeping in Airports to make your travel experience more restful.
